Darren Flood jailed for his role in a near-£1 million fraud.

United States News

Darren Flood (left, outside court yesterday), 39, was among seven conmen jailed for more than 20 years at Kingston Crown Court, London. They group used Flood’s links to Beckham to gain the trust of pensioners before tricking them into making ‘worthless’ investments on rare earth materials and metals (top right). Judge Michael Carroll said the public would be outraged if they did not go to jail for preying on vulnerable people. Flood – who was married to Victoria Beckham’s sister Louise Adams (together, inset bottom left) from 2009 until 2014 – was a director of The Commodities Link (TCL), based in Canary Wharf, which focused on ‘high net worth clients’ and discussed potential targets including former Chelsea footballer Joe Cole’s father. They employed bully-boy tactics to persuade at least 24 people to invest in rare metals they claimed would make vulnerable investors big returns, the judge sitting at Kingston Crown Court was told.
