CNN reports that six people have been arrested after Saturday’s apparent assassination attempt on President Nicolas Maduro in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas. This according to the nation’s interior minister said on national TV.
Maduro survived the assault. Several drones armed with explosives flew toward him during a speech at a military parade. MAduro blamed the attack on far-right elements and Colombia’s outgoing president, Juan Manuel Santos.
Interior Minister Nestor Reverol said Sunday, those arrested are accused of “terrorism and assassination.”
