Stella Wedell was 12 when she lost the Walkman cassette in Majorca in 1993. It washed up 1,200 miles away in Fuerteventura in 2017 and was recovered by UK artist Mandy Barker. She sent the tape to a restorer before including it in her touring exhibition Sea of Artefacts. German Stella, now 38, used to record CDs on to cassettes and saw the tape with a list of its 20 songs while on holiday in Stockholm. The exhibition was there for just two months. The album is thought to be Best of 93. Tracks include The Key, The Secret by Urban Cookie Collective. Stella, of Berlin, said: “The track list, seemed familiar. I didn’t like the first two songs on the CD so wouldn’t have included them. “To think a tape I lost more than 20 years ago had been found is incredible.” The left-out tracks are thought to be Living On My Own by Freddie Mercury and Paul McCartney’s Hope Of Deliverance.
